There are many wonderful websites of and about art, a number of which I know through correspondence in way of forums. These sites and forums are great for people in search of art to view, purchase, meet artists, and to get instruction. I am listing my favorite art forum, Wet Canvas and others along with various artists that I have met throught the web. Wet Canvas Forum

Wet Canvas Forum was founded in 1998 I believe and has over 113,000 members. It is comprised of about 52 separate forums representing different art mediums. There is much art to enjoy with the opportunity to meet the artists and even visit their websites. Many artists post WIP's (works in progress) of their drawings, showing them in various stages of development. For artists, whether beginner, intermedite, or seasoned, there are classrooms, articles, demonstrations, WIP's, and even  comments that will will be of great help. It is free to join and as a member, one can find and locate various artists and information quickly.
